The Imani Fest Back To School Supply Drive And Fu - Cincinnati Event

We Could Use Some Helping Hands…

At the Imani Family Center we believe that through interaction and learning we can grow as a community to appreciate and support one another. It is our mission to empower children & families to flourish. This summer, The Imani Family Center in partnership with Rothenberg Preparatory Academy, will be looking to supply over 600 grade school students with new school supplies and backpacks. We are asking for support from the community in ensuring the continued success of the festival. 

Many of the students living in our community face economical disadvantages. It can cost anywhere from $50-100 to supply a child with the tools they need for school. For some families, returning to school can be a very stressful time. We want to take that stress away and replace it with something much more important- support and excitement. The Imani Family Center looks to do this by providing students and families with school supplies, backpacks, gift cards, educational information, education tools, health information, checkups, free haircuts and so much more.  A portion of the proceeds will benefit the students of Rothenberg Preparatory Academy.

Our goal is to raise $8,000 and collect 1,000 backpacks full of school supplies, which will double last year's number of 585. The money raised will be used towards the purchase of school supplies, backpacks, festival materials, festival equipment and acquiring festival vendors. We are also looking for individuals to partner with and support our Back to School Imani Fest Supply Drive. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the students of Rothenberg Preparatory Academy.

Suggested Supplies Needed:

Paper: lined paper, copy paper, construction paper, spiral notebooks, composition books, index cards

Pencils & Pens: blue or black pens, #2 pencils, colored pencils, erasers, pencil sharpener, pencil case, colored markers, crayons, highlighters, dry-erase markers

General Supplies: dry-erase boards, paper clips, 3-ring 2" binders, pocket folders, report covers

Classroom staples: stapler, staples, rulers, protractors, glue sticks, scissors, tape, calculator

Things you can never have too much of:  tissues, sanitizing wipes, hand sanitizer

The Imani Family Center in OTR - Mon-Friday 11am-2pm at 45 Mulberry Street, Cincinnati 45202. Please call ahead before drop off. We can also make arrangements for drop offs/pickups for a time that is more convenient for you. Just call 513-621-3836
