Volunteer Training - Cincinnati Event
August 06, 2016 - Independence
Milestones
is a therapeutic horsemanship program that presents opportunities for
individuals with challenges to enhance their quality of life. Milestones is a
nationally accredited, nonprofit organization that strives to assist each rider
to become an innovative and productive member of the community by building
independence, self-confidence, and social skills in a safe, fun, loving
environment. We do this by teaching horsemanship skills and basic grooming to
individuals with diagnoses such as Autism, Cerebral Palsy, traumatic brain
injury, Spina Bifida, Down syndrome, etc.
We rely heavily on volunteer support at Milestones. We need volunteers to help during lessons with our horses and riders, as well as to keep the program up and running. Wherever your talents lie, Milestones could use your help.
Our upcoming volunteer training is scheduled for Saturday, August 6th at 3:00pm. Our training sessions last approximately two hours and include a "mock" lesson. Once you have been through training we will schedule you to volunteer in lessons. We ask that in order to provide the most consistency for our riders that volunteers sign up for two consecutive lessons on the same day each week and arrive approximately 10 to 15 minutes prior to the lesson start time.
