The One Voice Domestic Violence Community Awareness Walk was started in 2004 by founder Betsy Besl. She heard the cries of Cheryl Dawson, a young mother who was murdered by her estranged husband. Betsy chose to use this devastating experience to raise awareness for domestic violence victims and their batterers. Proceeds from the walk benefit Heart to Heart, an all volunteer 501(c)(3) non-profit that supports victims of abuse and their children.
