11th Annual RGI River Run, Benefiting Kicks For Kids - Cincinnati Event

CINCINNATI, Ohio - Kicks For Kids (KFK) announces that the 11th Annual RGI River Run will take place on Saturday, May 26 at 9:15 AM in Newport, kicking off both the local summer running season and Memorial Day Weekend! Event proceeds will support KFK's local youth programs as well as two of the charity's long-standing partners: the Division of Child Life at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center and UCP's Aaron W. Perlman Center. In light of the success of last year's event, which set internal records for entrants and net proceeds, the 2007 RGI River Run will continue to appeal to competitive and recreational runners (adult and youth), walkers and families with young children. Along with the 5K run/walk that bridges Newport, Covington and Cincinnati, the event will once again offer the touching Special K for children with physical and/or mental disabilities and the ever-popular Children's Fun Run. Registration and all of the post-race events will occur at a unique spot with fantastic views -- the Purple People Bridge (next to Newport On The Levee). The RumRunners, an incredible cover band from Cincinnati, will perform live, Panera Bread will serve bagels, and Domino's Pizza, the Tavern Restaurant Group and the Newport Aquarium will provide awards. Participants will have the chance to win a $500 Meijer shopping spree, along with many other fantastic door prizes for adults and kids. Each entrant will also receive a "goodie bag", which will include product samples, coupons and a ticket good for food and drink at the post-event party at Arnie's on the Levee! The races will start as follows: Special K - 9:15 AM; 5K - 9:30 AM; Children's Fun Run - 10:30 AM. All Special K athletes receive a medal, and each child who participates in the Children's Fun Run will receive a commemorative award. Participation in the RGI River Run can occur through either raising money via the Pledge Program or by paying an entry fee. Prizes associated with the Pledge Program include Dri-Release® t-shirts, embroidered event blankets, gift certificates to Meijer, Bengals tickets for the 2007 regular season and Comair/Delta airline tickets! Pre-registration must be postmarked by Monday, May 21, 2007. Entry fees are as follows: $12 for adults; $10 for children 12-17; $8 for children 6-11; Free for children under 6. T-shirts (Dri-Release® for adults, cotton for children) are an additional $10. Special K participants are no charge and receive a free cotton t-shirt. Race day registration begins at 8:00 AM at the Purple People Bridge in Newport -- prices are slightly higher.
