Sunset Players, a West Side community theater group that performs at the Arts Center at Dunham (on the grounds of the Dunham Recreation Complex off Guerley Rd), continues its 40th anniversary season with Humpty Dumpty is Missing, written by Joseph Robinette and directed by Bob Kelly, December 6th through 15th. Performed by children, for children, we're certain you'll enjoy too if you appreciate the spontaneity of children on-stage, many for the first time.
In the tradition of his grandfather, Samuel Shovel and his father, Sam Spade, private investigator Sammy Scoop faces the biggest challenge of his illustrious career with the sudden fall and disappearance of the jolly Humpty-Dumpty. Sam and his sidekick Alice from Dallas combine forces to crack the case and grill a list of suspects, including Mistress Mary, Rip Van Winkle, Henny-Penny, Peter Rabbit and his sisters, Rapunzel and the Handsome Prince, all who had motive and opportunity.
Friday performances at 7:00 PM and Saturday/Sunday at 2 PM. Cincinnati State’s Interpreter Training Program will provide sign language interpreting for the deaf community on Saturday, December 14th..
Tickets are $6 for general admission or $25 Family Admission (admits all members of same household for a flat fee of $25). Great value for families with more than 2 children and/or multiple generations under one roof. Tickers can be purchased online (www.sunsetplayers.org) or at the door. This historic venue is not wheelchair accessible. Attendees must be able to navigate 2 short flights of stairs, both with handrails. There are 3-4 steps from the outside to the Box Office/Lower Lobby and another 6 from that level to the theater level. Patrons with difficulty walking longer distances, or on uneven surfaces, can be dropped off by the walkway to the front entrance of the facility.
