Heritage Village Museum will be kicking off 2019 with the First Person Program Series running from February 7 through March 27. Come to the Village and learn about notable people of the past from the presenters! Each program begins at 7:00 p.m. and includes dessert.

In 1862, William Howard Neff was hardware store owner in downtown Cincinnati. When the threat of a Confederate invasion of the Queen City seemed imminent, he sent his family to Yellow Springs, buried his silver and wired his bank account to New York. He then dutifully joined the Home Guard and prepared to defend Cincinnati during the Siege of Cincinnati by Confederate forces. As a member of the Pearl Street Rifles, Neff was in the trenches south of Covington during the Confederate incursion. Hear his stories and accolades of those who answered the call during the Siege of Cincinnati, 1862.

William Howard Neff will be portrayed by our Education Director, Steve Preston.
