Cincinnati Community Orchestra 2020-21 Concert Sea - Cincinnati Event

July 11, 2020 - Cincinnati

8005 Pfeiffer Road
Cincinnati, OH 45242

The Cincinnati Community Orchestra has been out of the public eye this spring, but CCO musicians have been busy making music. This weekend the orchestra will release their Virtual Beethoven 7th, a video project produced by Cincinnati media company Brandenburgh Productions. The video will go live on the CCO website July 11.

This video release heralds the launch of the CCO’s 2020-21 concert season. The season opens December 5 with a celebration of Beethoven 250; the program features the master’s Symphony #7 as well as the Ravel Concerto for Piano Left Hand, with guest soloist Nicholas Ross of Otterbein University. The orchestra returns to the stage February 27, 2021, in a concert of music inspired by Shakespeare from composers Dvorak, Mendelssohn and Tchaikovsky. The season will close with a May 1, 2021 concert celebrating American composers. The orchestra will be joined by CCM piano professor Michelle Conda, performing MacDowell’s Second Piano Concerto. The program also features the lush, romantic Third Symphony of African American composer Florence Price.

Conductor Mark Rudoff is eager to get back to the podium for his third season as CCO Music Director. “I am so impressed and moved by the dedication and resilience of the CCO musicians,” says Rudoff. “The Virtual Beethoven 7 was a huge, demanding project, the players jumped in with both feet and the result is amazing. No surprise to me: it is a terrific orchestra.”
